Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Arthur Katz (“I”, “me”, or “my”) collects, uses, and protects information when you visit imarthur.com (the “Site”). By using the Site you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Site.

2. Information I Collect

I collect two categories of information:

2.1 Information you provide voluntarily

If you contact me by email (e.g. via the address displayed on the Site), I receive your name, email address, and any content you include in your message. I do not operate contact forms that store submissions in a database.

2.2 Information collected automatically

With your consent, I use PostHog (an analytics platform) to collect anonymised usage data, including pages visited, time on page, referrer URL, browser type, and approximate geographic region (country level). This data contains no personally identifiable information and is used solely to understand how visitors interact with the Site so I can improve it.

Analytics are only activated after you explicitly accept cookies via the cookie consent dialog. If you reject cookies or dismiss the dialog, no analytics data is collected.

3. Cookies

The Site uses two types of cookies:

  • Strictly necessary cookies — a small cookie storing your cookie consent preference. This cookie is set regardless of your choice and is required for the Site to remember your decision.
  • Analytics cookies — cookies set by PostHog to track anonymised usage events. These are only placed on your device if you accept cookies via the consent dialog.

You can change your cookie preferences at any time by clicking “Cookie preferences” in the footer.

4. How I Use Information

  • To respond to enquiries you send me by email.
  • To understand how the Site is used and to improve its content and performance.
  • To fulfil any legal obligations that may apply.

I do not sell, rent, or otherwise transfer your information to third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services

The Site relies on the following third-party services that may process data on my behalf:

  • Vercel — the Site is hosted on Vercel's infrastructure. Vercel may log standard server access logs (IP address, request path, timestamp) for security and reliability purposes. See Vercel's Privacy Policy.
  • PostHog — analytics service used only with your consent. PostHog processes data under a Data Processing Agreement and stores data on EU servers. See PostHog's Privacy Policy.

6. Data Retention

Email correspondence is retained only for as long as necessary to respond to and resolve your enquiry, and is then deleted. Anonymised analytics data collected via PostHog is retained for up to 12 months. Your cookie consent preference is stored locally in your browser and expires after 365 days or when you clear your browser data.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data I hold about you.
  • Rectification — request correction of inaccurate personal data.
  • Erasure — request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal obligations.
  • Objection — object to processing of your personal data where it is based on legitimate interests.
  • Withdraw consent — withdraw your cookie consent at any time via the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer.

8. Security

The Site is served exclusively over HTTPS. I take reasonable technical measures to protect information in my possession, but no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. I cannot guarantee the absolute security of any information you transmit to me.

9. Children's Privacy

The Site is not directed to individuals under the age of 16. I do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided me with personal data, please contact me and I will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When I do, I will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of the page. Continued use of the Site after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. I encourage you to review this page periodically.
